Tired of average looking sushi? Mosaic Sushi will change the way you appreciate and eat this favourite Japanese classic – it looks almost too good to eat! Almost.
In case you’re wondering what mosaic sushi is, sushi rice is pressed into square shapes and topped with various ingredients. You can literally get your favourite sushi toppings like sashimi, crab sticks, omelette, prawns, cucumber slices, unagi, scallops, fish roe and many others squared into a work of art.
Want to impress your family and friends with this latest food trend? You can even try this at home by using square moulds to press the sushi into shapes and then decorate them with colourful ingredients.
The trend is currently really popular in Japan and we all know how they get the heads up on everything. If you’re not planning a trip there anytime soon though, don’t worry as we have found a place selling mosaic sushi in Singapore.
Kotobuki has a Special Year End Promotion Set ($82 for three/four pax, usual $138) consisting of a box of mosaic art sushi, premium sashimi platter and assorted tempura platter. Get on it folks!
